Note: The Qutbabad mint was formerly known as Deogir Fort, a site of historical importance in Indian history. Following Malik Kafur’s Deccan expeditions under Alauddin Khilji, Deogir was brought under nominal control of the Delhi Sultanate. But, it was Qutb ud-Din Mubarak Shah who, around 1317 CE, captured the fort and reasserted firm control over the region. In commemoration of this conquest, he renamed Deogir to&nbsp;Qutbabad,&nbsp;honouring himself.<o:p></o:p>
